September 9, 2014 | Simsbury, CT – On Thursday, October 23, 2014, at The Riverview, the Simsbury Land Trust will hold its second art auction and dinner. Featuring local farm fresh foods from Tulmeadow Farm, Rosedale Farms, Flamig Farm, and George Hall Farm, Farms, Forks and Frames will take place from 6:00-9:30 p.m. NBC CT meteorologist and Simsbury resident Bob Maxon will be the guest auctioneer, and Simsbury Bank is the event’s gold sponsor.

“The last time we held this event, we raised $19,000,” says Simsbury Land Trust executive director Amy Zeiner. “This year, we’re aiming for $25,000 to support Simsbury Land Trust stewardship and property acquisition efforts.”

Local artists Catherine Elliott and Deborah Leonard, along with John Johnson and Alexander Anisimov, will auction original paintings. There will also be silent and live auctions featuring a variety of items such as a week in a Tuscan Villa, several guided fishing trips, a week in a condo on Kiawah Island and more. Bring your friends, family and neighbors and join us for an evening of fun, food and beautiful art. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted for payment on all art and auction purchases.

Tickets are $75.00 per person, and include dinner and open bar and $25.00 donation to the Simsbury Land Trust. Reserved tables of 8 or 10 are available. Musical entertainment is being determined and menu planning is nearly complete. To purchase tickets, please contact the Simsbury Land Trust at 860-651-8773 or amyzeiner@aol.com. Other sponsors include C-TEC Solar, Reid and Riege, PC, and Shipman and Goodwin, LLC.
