FOR SMOKERS WHO WANT TO QUIT

November Special Includes Consultation and Recommended Plan

November 6, 2014 | Greenwich, CT – Every year, the third Thursday of November is the Great American Smokeout. It’s a day when people across the United States decide to quit smoking. Knowing that smokers who have support are more likely to quit for good (according to the American Cancer Society), ASAP Urgent Care is offering a special consultation and recommendation for anyone who wants to quit smoking this month.

For just $30, patients can visit any ASAP Urgent Care location (Hamden, Madison, Milford, or North Haven) for a smoking cessation consultation with a provider. Possible recommendations may include a referral to 1-800-QUIT-NOW, prescription medication, or the use of nicotine replacement therapies.

“It doesn’t matter how you stop smoking,” says ASAP chief medical officer Lawrence Earl, M.D. “We just want you to stop, and we’re here to help.”

According to the American Cancer Society, in the United States today about one in five adults smoke cigarettes. That’s more than 43.6 million people. Nearly 15 million people smoke tobacco in cigars or pipes.
