Remember. Reflect. Recommit.
On September 11, 2001 343 FDNY firefighters, 23 NYPD officers, 37 Port Authority Police, and eight private EMS/EMT paramedics made the ultimate sacrifice answering the call. On Thursday, September 11, 2014, the Avon Volunteer Fire Department will host a memorial service commemorating the lives lost and the heroism displayed during the terrorist attacks on our nation. The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Company 1 located at 25 Darling Drive. All are welcome to attend and renew the promise Americans made 12 years ago when we vowed to never forget, to always remember.
