Today’s workday started with a 3 a.m. wake up call to begin a somber morning with our Avon Volunteer Fire Department client remembering the Avon Mountain crash 10 years ago. While media coverage of the service of remembrance was never a goal, it was inevitable, and we cannot deny feeling a huge sense of pride and accomplishment in the management of the active media scene from 4:00-9:00 a.m., including coordination of both live and taped Avon Volunteer Fire Department spokesperson interviews. The day ended on a high note as we assisted leaders of the Long Hill Volunteer Fire Co. #1 Inc in preparation for a television interview about an incredible rescue they performed last week, only to receive the ultimate surprise when the victim showed up to thank the volunteers who saved him!
